MR-HM 150.13 Methods of Flow Measurement Educational Equipment Hydrodynamics Lab equipment Description • different methods of flow ratemeasurement • visualisation of the pressure distribution in Venturi nozzle ormeasuring orifice/measuringnozzle
Measuring the flow rate is an importantaspect in measurement technology. There are several ways to measure theflow of fluids in pipes. With HM 150.13 students can familiarise themselves with various methods formeasuring flow in the pipe system andapply them in practice. The experimental unit contains differentmeasuring instruments to determinethe flow rate. These instruments are designed with transparent cases in orderto visualise how they operate and function. The methods include, for example, rotameters, a Venturi nozzle or orificeplate flow meter and measuring nozzle. Six tube manometers is used in order todetermine the pressure distribution inthe Venturi nozzle or the orifice plateflow meter and measuring nozzle. Thetotal pressure is measured by a Pitottube. The experimental unit is positionedeasily and securely on the work surfaceof the HM 150 base module. The wateris supplied and the flow rate measuredby HM 150. Alternatively, the experimental unit can be operated by thelaboratory supply.
